FriendsCampus had the honor of participating in the “Global Village Conclave — ग्रामोदय 2022”, organized by the IIT Delhi Alumni Association (IITDAA) in collaboration with the Centre for Rural Development & Technology (CRDT) and CSIR – National Institute of Science Communication & Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), New Delhi.

This prestigious conclave was part of the national initiative Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, which focuses on identifying key development challenges and designing sustainable solutions to accelerate growth in rural India. The theme of the event was “Redefining the Paradigm of Development.”

Focus Areas and Event Overview

The sessions were conducted on January 24th and 25th, 2022, addressing five critical areas of rural development:

• Rural Energy
• Water Resources
• Livelihood
• Waste Management
• Environment

The conclave was held in webinar mode and webcast across multiple online platforms, enabling wide participation from stakeholders across the country.

FriendsCampus: Top 5 in Livelihood Category

Out of 117 applications, FriendsCampus was selected among the Top 5 initiatives in the Livelihood category, earning the opportunity to present our work before an esteemed panel of jury members. This recognition highlights our commitment to creating meaningful impact through education and skill development.

Inaugural Session and Esteemed Panel

The session was inaugurated at 11:00 AM on 24th January 2022 by Mr. Kalpen Shukla, President of IITDAA, in the presence of Dr. Lalit Pande (Padma Shri Awardee, DA Awardee, Director – UEEC), along with other distinguished members of IITDAA and event moderators.

We were privileged to present FriendsCampus before an eminent jury panel comprising:

• Ms. Ritu (Goswami) Kataky – University of Durham, UK
• Ms. Jyotsana Chugh – EC Member, IITDAA
• Mr. Atul Bal – Past President, IITDAA
• Mr. Pankaj Kumar Kapadia – Moderator

The insights, feedback, and suggestions shared by the jury members were extremely valuable and will help us further strengthen our impact.
